The staff of GRACARO visited Universal Maidens Association Cameroon (UNIMAC), Nchobuh, 15 May 2024 to evaluate their activities and how they have been able to thrive as an organization. This was also to strengthen partnership relations between UNIMAC and GRACARO. UNIMAC is an organization driven by a vision to create a society where dignity and equality are the cornerstones of every workplace, ensuring the empowerment and protection of Maidens (young girls and women). Their vision is dedicated to eradicating exploitation and violence against Maidens (young girls and women) through advocacy, empowerment programs and collaboration. They strive to build a safer and fairer world for all” Services: –
– Skills training and development
– Women empowerment programs
– GBV awareness campaigns
– Partnership and networking initiatives
– Psychosocial assistance to victims of violence and abuse
– Training and placement of domestic workers
They equally have as future plans to construct a green house, train young girls and women on poultry farming and snail farming. They also aim to create a center where Maidens who have been violated and abused would be given
psychological assistance.
UNIMAC works in collaboration with the International Labour organization (ILO) to ensure that the
rights and obligations of the domestic workers are respected by their employees.
